About Us
Hello, I'm Fran Hellman.  Dogs have always been a part of my life.  I’ve owned a number of dogs both purebreds and mixed breeds but it wasn’t until 1985 when my husband Howard and I were married that we acquired our first golden retriever.  “Toby” was pick of the litter bred by Lily and Fritz Neimoller of Golden Glory  Goldens.  We were very fortunate to acquire such a beautiful, well tempered, healthy dog and to have connected with such nurturing breeders.   Toby was our inspiration for learning about showing and trialing dogs. After all titles were obtained he became;  Golden Glory’s Toby CDX, CGC, TT, Delta Certified Therapy Dog.

In 1993 we acquired Heather from Kay Gosling of Gosling Goldens.  Continuing with the enjoyment of training our dogs, Heather became Gosling’s Wildest Dream UD, OA, NAJ, CGC, TT, Delta Certified Therapy Dog.

In 1997 we acquired Katie from Trina Boggs of Arieh Goldens.   Katie became Arieh’s Goodtime Kiss Me Kate  CGC, TT, Delta Certified Therapy Dog.

In 2000 we acquired Sammy, our first cavalier, at about 4 months of age from Chuck Minter of Fairfield Cavaliers.  Sammy was bred by Ann Danenberg of Highland Cavaliers.  This little amazing dog opened the door for us to the wonderful world of cavaliers.  Sammy is Ch. Highland Fairfield Samuel, AX, AXJ, CD, C-CD, CGC, TT, Delta Certified Therapy Dog and R.E.A.D. Certified Therapy Dog.

In 2002 we acquired Chief from Lisa Smith of Goodtime Goldens.  Chief is our most titled golden to date. He is Ch. Goodtime’s Gone Country CDX, OA, NAJ, NAP, NAJP, CGC, TT, Delta Certified Therapy Dog and R.E.A.D.  Certified Therapy Dog.  He is a multiple BOB winner and group placer, Specialty Show BOW, AOM and BVISS.  Chief has sired 5 litters.  Some of his get are being shown in the breed ring and performance rings.

In 2005 we acquired Lovey from Erica Venier of Orchard Hill Cavaliers.  Lovey quickly finished her championship and her entry level agility titles.  Lovey became Ch. Orchard Hill Hello Love NA, NAJ.  From her "First" (litter theme name) litter sired by  Ch. Sanickro Double Vision at Brynwood she produced our first homebred champion Bacci, Ch. Sunjays First Kiss.  Bacci’s littermate Player, Sunjays First N Goal also achieved his Championship shortly after Bacci. Both boys finished their championships very quickly.  Lovey continues to be a very good brood bitch. From the "Anniversary" litter sired by Ch. Orchard Hill Here for the Party she produced Orchard Hill Home By Dark, who qualified to compete in the CKCSC-USA coveted Puppy of the Year contest.    He is co-owned by Karen Sage and Erica Venier.  From the "Georgia Songs"  litter sired by English CH. Pascavale Enchanted she has produced our beautiful girl Peaches, CH Sunjays Georgia Peach.

All of the above mentioned dogs hold a very special place in our hearts, as they hold for us many significant firsts.  We feel blessed for  each one of them and it is because of them that we continue on our journey through our years of involvement in the dog world.

We are very grateful to all of the breeders who have entrusted their dogs with us and helped us on our way to achieving our goals.

Our kennel name “Sunjays” was born from combining our sons names, Jason and James.

We strive to produce dogs that are sound in health, temperament, structure and breed type.  We stand behind every puppy for their entire life. We feel that mentoring is of the utmost importance and therefore make ourselves available to help our puppy owners any time.
